This is a Work in Progress. Minor cities, villainous team, forests, water/land routes, desert, caves, mountains, Victory Road and E4&Champion(s?) will be listed on at later times. That does not mean you cannot suggest a couple of things!
Region: Named the Daten Region, it is situated in Southern California of the US. It's the closest regional neighbor to Unova, with both able to access each other through land or air. Daten is somewhat hotter than most regions with a tropical biome dominating the region. Unlike most regions, it does not have a desert but it does receive snowfall during winters.
Young trainers usually start their adventures in Zedoary Hills, which is found in the most southern point of Daten. It houses one Pokemon professor and a former champion, with both handing out starters to aspiring trainers. Straton is a former champion who gave up his position in order to train the next generation of trainers. He hands out Johto, Sinnoh, and Unova starters. Horace is a famed Pokemon professor that studies growth patterns of Pokemon, though something feels odd about him. He hands out Kanto, Hoenn, and Kalos starters. In addition, both Straton and Horace hand out Alolan starters.
Daten holds 8 major cities, although not all house a gym. In addition to these, there are many smaller towns where trainers usually rest up and stock up on supplies:
Angeli City- Type specialty: Flying. The Angeli City gym is recognized as a large aviary rather than a gym. It's that way as this gym takes in and rehabilitates Flying-type Pokemon that have been incapacitated, injured, or abandoned in some way. This city is the closest to the Hills, accessible through a quick tunnel or a nice hiking trail in the mountains. There are some lovely folks living in Angeli who manufacture an advanced version of the Pokegear.
Gym Leader: [Claimed]
Reges City- Type Specialty: Psychic. Reges City is found by the coast, even further north than Angeli City. Unlike other major cities, it doesn't house a gym. Instead having one of the few contest halls of the region. The gym is found on an archipelago just off the coast of the city inside an abandoned mine. Or one that was abandoned until the gym appeared. The gym leader isn't cruel and has integrated both a Pokemon Center and Pokemart for trainer convenience.
Gym Leader: TBA
Voisole City- Type Specialty: Fire. Voisole City is famous for its large population of immigrants originating from Kanto and Johto, having a drastically different cultural atmosphere than the rest of the region. Trainers wishing to challenge the Voisole Gym have to go through a trial before being permitted. There are three towers in the city, each with an elder waiting on the highest floor. Once defeated, these elders hand out rare TMs with an escape rope for a quick exit. If they are visited any other time, they'll be more than happy to give you some history and myths associated with Kanto and Johto.
Gym Leader: TBA
Vitreus City- Type Specialty: Ice. The most northern-bound city in Daten. It's famous for its ski resort that not only attracts tourists, but many trainers searching for rare Pokemon. It is thought that this city, like Snowpoint in Sinnoh, houses ruins that holds a mythical Pokemon. These allegations have not been confirmed, however. The gym itself is the ski lodge where trainers can rest up before or after the gym challenge.
Gym Leader: TBA
Dorado City- Type Specialty: Electric. The most technologically advanced city in Daten. The city is something you'd see out of science fiction with tubular walkways running through the city. These walkways can only be accessed by stairs as they connect buildings on higher floors or buildings with no door on the ground floor. The biggest attraction of the city is its arcade, which is the largest in the region. The arcade itself is run by the gym leader as it also doubles as a gym. Only to certain trainers, the gym leader allows access to an underground complex. Rumor has it that this complex is the ruins of the original Dorado City that was built over. Dorado City also has a contest hall located within an amusement park.
Gym Leader: Marilyn
Team: Raichu (Alolan), Eelektross, Luxray, Amphoros (Mega)
Aquilonis City- Type Specialty: Water. A beach paradise that's famous for it's crystalline waters and white sand. It's a city bursting with festivities and appreciation for Water-type Pokemon. Like it's Unovan counterpart, it connects itself to Dorado City via a marine tube where people are able to safely view ocean life. Aquilonis is also home to distant descendants of People of the Water, waiting for a Manaphy egg to arrive. The egg isn't their only major focus as they run programs to rehabilitate Water-types and protect incoming Phione. A contest hall is located within the city.
Gym Leader: TBA
Umbratris Town- Type Specialty: Dark. A small town that is isolated from the rest of the region by a swamp. They've built many connecting routes to make it easier for travelers to access the town, but the local Ghost-type population often scares people away. It's because of this that people think the swamp is haunted by evil spirits rather than mischievous Pokemon. On a more positive note, the town does have a safari swamp where trainers are more than welcomed to participate in.
Traverse City- Type Specialty: Fairy. A city that is reminiscent of Kalos architecture. It's a large, bustling European styled city that is more concerned with the glorification of its buildings. It's also the last major city to house a Pokemon contest hall. There's much to do within the city. You can have a nice battle and meal in the restaurants, or get a lotto ticket. Maybe some berry juice or even go shopping in the department store! Unlike the rest of the gym leaders that hand out a TM to the victor, he gives out the Waterfall HM for trainers to gain access to the Pokemon League.
Gym Leader: Federico
Team: Togekiss, Sylveon, Gardevoir (Mega), Wigglytuff, Clefable, Mawile

Villainous Team
Daten appears to be a peaceful region compared to others. There isn't a group of people in flashy outfits terrorizing trainers while looking for mythical Pokemon. That's because Daten's crime syndicate knows how to operate without making a raucous fiasco. Helios Corporation, or Hel Corp., looks like any run-of-the-mill manufacturing company that caters to the everyday needs of trainers. They have bigger plans than just supplying trainers with necessities. The team leader is an inigma, but his goal isn't too far off from other disbanded teams in other regions: get a hold of all the Pokemon in the region and reign supreme.
