(This is a WIP. Locations and other stuff will be added and may be changed later on. Feel free to ask questions or make suggestions!)
From the hot and dusty desert to the snowy forests, The Daten Frontier is a wild place where respect is only earned with bullets and a one wrong word to the wrong person can earn you an early grave.
The Daten Frontier
Regions along their towns and other notable locations:
Devil's Tongue - A region consisting low lying hills and the ungodly dry and hot desert from which the region gets it's name from. It is home to many of the Territory's bandit gangs, who are kept in check by the Lawmen of Abbeyston. Located west of Brian Springs
Abbeyston - Biggest town in Devil's Tongue and homebase of the region's Lawmen. Here you'll find nothing but the best Lawmen in all of the Frontier
.
Demon's Worth - A ghost town turned bandit fortress ruled by a ruthless gang leader who fancies himself the "Lord of the Outlaws". Any bandit looking to form a gang and make a name for themselves will always come here.
Pete's Tooth Mine - An old gold mine which gets it's name from the Prospector Pete whose tooth fell straight out of his mouth upon discovering a large gold vein in a nearby mountain.
Brian Springs - An area of fertile lowlands with small ranches and a couple towns doting the area which are often the victims of cattle rusters and the occassional bank robbers. Located southwest of Golden Prairie and east of Devil's Tongue
Eli's Ranch - Owned by the former sheriff of Abbeyston, Eli Richardson, Eli's Ranch is the largest in the territory with it's own general store and railway station.
Littlebutte - A town located on the far eastern side of Brain Springs known for it's cattle and horse breeding. Out of all the towns in the Territory, they suffer from bandit attacks the least.
Golden Prairie - The most modern and industrialized region in the Territory consisting of vast, empty grasslands where herds of buffalo, horses, and ranch cattle graze with the port town of Steelflats serving as the Territory's captial. Located northeast of Brian Springs and east of Blackwood Forest
Steelflats - The thriving port town of Steelflats is the embodiment of civilization within the Territory with it's cobbled streets and gas lamplights. Home to the Governor of the Territory.
Jefferson Post - A small settlement on the border between Golden Prairie and Blackwood Forest. It's trading post supplies travelers and hunters before they venture into Blackwood Forest.
Blackwood Forest - The most northern region of the Frontier. It's snowy pine forests and mountains are filled with big game such as bears and elk, making it an ideal hunting ground and it's strong trees are used by settlers as wood for houses and fences in the Golden Prairie region. However, a tribe of wandering natives settled in region a few months ago and refuse to leave. The resulting tension between the settlers and natives has caught the attention of the Territory's governor. Located west of Golden Prairie.
Lehomo Rock - A mountain where the natives in the Territory have made their home with a cave near it's peak. It's a higly defensable location, making any attack on the natives very costly.
Willy's Reach - A small encampment located deep in Blackwood Forest populated by hunters and a few crazy old folk. While many of them are primarily there for hunting, they also keep a close eye on the natives.
Factions:
Lawmen - The Lawmen in the Daten Territory are pretty much what you'd expect: Sheriffs and their deputies protecting the town from bandits and other kinds of baddies, all in the name of preserving law and order in the territory. With the recent rise in banditry, sheriffs have begun recruiting more deputies to combat the bandits. The most hardened and experienced of the Lawmen can be found in Abbeyston.
Bandits - From cattle rustling to bank robbing to cold-blooded murder, bandits have plagued the Territory for as long as anyone can remember. Gangs form and disperse quite frequently, as the Territory, with all the wealth and sorrow it can bring, can turn the greatest of allies into the bitterest of enemies and vice versa. However, there has been a spike in the number of bandits as of late. More bandits means more gangs and some, whether through a sense of loyalty to each other or fear of their leader, have lasted longer than they normally would and could become a major threat to the Lawmen if left to grow and fester.
Natives - The natives living in Blackwood Forest a generally peaceful people who merely want to left alone in the land they consider their's, though some know fully well that law enforcement will come to drive them out and believe the tribe should make war with the invaders as soon as they're able.
Federal Agents - Like the Lawmen, the Federal Agents in the territory want to preserve law and order. But unlike the Lawmen, Federal Agents enforce the law to control the territory and it's citizens, rather than to protect them. Though few in number, they wield significant authority over the areas which they have direct control and will bribe, blackmail, and even kill to maintain and expand that authority throughout the territory.
